CASTLE ROCK -- Sylvia Cockrum served a lot of beer in her day. Yet one of the things she's remembered for is bringing water to Larkspur.
She was a member of the town council that helped establish the town's sewer and water system.
She and her late husband, Chuck, also owned the Spur, a 3.2 beer joint. And that led her to get involved in the community.
"The water was so terrible out of our well, slimy water," she said.
So she found out where and how to get government paperwork for grants. She said she turned the paperwork over to "someone who knew what to do with it."
