Unions at VPFM steelworks sign 3-year collective agreement providing 5 % wage hike in 2005

Prague. January 6 INTERFAX EUROPE - Managers and trade unions of the Vlacovny plechu Frydek-Mistek (VPFM) steelworks have signed a three-year collective agreement ensuring wage growth of 5 % this year, VPFM spokesman Tomas Zelazko told Interfax Thursday.

The hike will put the average wage at the firm at CZK 18,000 per month.

In 2004, wages at VPFM increased to an average of CZK 17,100 per month, thanks to very positive economic results, says the spokesman.
