LA Fitness said that it was "extremely encouraged" by the start made by its trial 'Promise' weight loss centres. The company has opened one site under the brand and plans two further centres, due to open in the New Year, before deciding whether to roll the concept out nationally.

The group's board said it was "extremely encouraged by the initial reception received from both the public and potential partners towards this new venture."
