Jan. 4--FREDERICK, Md. -- Some Frederick County residents will experience sticker shock when they open their mailboxes this week. That is because their $250,000 home is going to be worth $405,750 in the eyes of the state in three years.
The newest property assessments were sent out late last Thursday and should be showing up in mailboxes this week, according to Doris White, supervisor of assessments for Frederick County.
The assessments on one-third of Frederick County's properties will be increasing 56 percent over the next three years. This is the second-highest increase in the state, trailing only Montgomery County's ...
