Jan. 7--Smooth the sheets, plump up the pillows and pass the pan-seared foie gras with pistachio pesto. At a restaurant set to open in Manhattan today, diners will do as the ancient Romans did -- crawl into bed and dine horizontally.
B.E.D. New York is one of five new Manhattan dining spots where you're not only allowed to eat in bed -- you're supposed to.
The bi-level restaurant, on the sixth floor of a Chelsea building, contains 23 beds in the main dining space.
