In an unusual move, the Daily Breeze, of Torrance, Calif., said earlier this month that it would begin outsourcing all of its printing to a local commercial web firm beginning in April.

The 70,426-circulation daily paper, owned by Copley Press of La Jolla, Calif., had been the area contract printer for the regional edition of the New York Times and as that contract is scheduled to end this week, the New York paper sought "more advanced production presses," the Breeze reported.
