State restaurant sales expected to increase 4.4%
The Michigan Restaurant Association said last week that sales in the state's food and beverage industry are expected to increase by 4.4 percent this year to $11.8 billion.
The state association contributed to the study, which is conducted annually by the Washington, D.C.-based National Restaurant Association.
Nationally, industry sales are projected to top $476 billion in 2005, a 4.9 percent increase.
While the projected sales increases are welcome, the Michigan forecast is less optimistic than predictions for Nevada and Arizona, which may see sales increases of 7.6 percent and 6.9 ...
