Tom Nguyen, a Renton pharmacist, wanted to create the kind of Vietnamese restaurant where he would like to dine: One with a handsome, sophisticated decor and a full menu of authentic regional dishes - including many of his personal favorites and some previously unseen in Seattle. With Tamarind Tree, a hidden oasis in the International District's "Little Saigon" area, he is two-thirds of the way there.
