Jan. 10--For Tijuana Flats Burrito Co., the Orlando-based Tex-Mex chain, 2005 marks not just the company's 10th anniversary, but also its first major venture outside Florida.
The restaurant company, known for its eclectic decor, off-the-wall hot sauce brands, and made-to-order menu, already boasts a substantial local following.
Founder Brian Wheeler, 35, a University of Central Florida graduate, has taken the business from one site near UCF -- where customers early on complained that the music was too loud -- to 22 locations. All but two are in Florida.
