Ceske drahy, trade unions fail to sign collective agreement
Prague. January 11 INTERFAX EUROPE - Union reps and management at national railway operator Ceske drahy (CD) failed to conclude a collective agreement for 2005 at their talks on Monday, CD spokesman Petr Stahlavsky told Interfax.
Engine drivers, represented by the Federation of Engine Drivers, are demanding a special wage supplement for their category amounting to 21.5 % of their current wage, along with a regular 7 % wage hike for 2005.
According to Stahlavsky, these demands are unacceptable both to management and other trade unions representing the remaining CD employees.
