Although they have never trusted each other, the Turkmen and Kurdish communities have one suspicion in common: that they might eventually be abandoned or double-crossed by the US. But this suspicion is dwarfed by what each of the two ethnic groups is trying to do against the other: Because the Kurds have brought in Israeli "guests", including the Mossad, as a guarantee that their enclave will be protected against a Turkish invasion, Turkmen have allowed Wahhabi insurgents into their midsts while their ITF rivals are housing members of the Turkish secret service.
