WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- The City of West Hollywood plans to keep its residents and visitors connected to the world wide web with free outdoor high-speed wireless internet access, also known as "wi-fi." The City will launch a pilot outdoor wi-fi program later this year. The pilot project area will encompass Santa Monica Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and Fairfax Avenue. Requests for proposals have been issued to telecommunications companies to build the wireless system.
