GORDON RAMSAY has sealed his status as Britain's top chef with booming profits from his restaurants.
The Hell's Kitchen TV star's stable of London dining rooms earned a record [pounds sterling]30.5 million in revenue last year, a rise of almost 50 per cent on 2003.
The restaurants, which boast a total of seven Michelin stars, also made a pre-tax profit of [pounds sterling]3.8 million, a remarkable turnaround from the previous year's loss of [pounds sterling]1 million even though Ramsay had to absorb [pounds sterling]800,000 losses from the closure of his failed Glasgow venture, Amaryllis.
