Jan. 13--Boral Bricks Inc., the country's largest brick company, said Wednesday it plans to build a $35 million manufacturing plant in Union City by early 2006 that will employ 50 people.
Boral will build the plant on the site of a brick factory it closed in 1990. The Georgia-based company already operates a brick plant in Muskogee with 45 workers. It also has sales offices and showrooms in Oklahoma City and Broken Arrow.
Boral executives said the new plant will help solve an under-supply problem of the last couple of years amid a regional home-building boom. The company has been shipping bricks into the Oklahoma market from ...
