FIJI 13 JANUARY 2005 (Pacnews) - The United Nations Environment Programme has cited Fiji as the worst offender in the South Pacific when it come to plastic waste disposal and local authorities agree. While the UN body said that Fiji can be commended for its awareness work in this area, the results of the awareness campaigns is far from pleasing and if left unattended, the growing plastic waste problem in Fiji could undermine tourism and employment.
