MEXICO CITY _ Mexico's special prosecutor for "dirty war" crimes said Thursday he would file new genocide charges against former officials who have avoided prosecution, including perhaps ex-President Luis Echeverria.
Prosecutor Ignacio Carrillo, who has been criticized as ineffective by victims' families, said the new charges would focus on the 1968 student massacre in the Tlatelolco square in Mexico City.
