Jan. 14--STOCKTON, Calif. -- The H.J. Heinz Co. plant in Stockton experienced its second major hazardous-materials spill in six months -- 1,500 gallons of corrosive sodium hydroxide -- that was contained within the cannery.
A company spokeswoman said no one was injured in the spill that occurred Friday.
The District Attorney's Office said Thursday it is investigating the incident.
"I've been in contact with the company," Deputy District Attorney David Irey said.
Irey plans to meet with Heinz attorneys within the next few weeks to hear the company's account. He declined to comment on any possible ...
