Jan. 14--The village of Sackets Harbor is the rightful owner of 13 feet of disputed land that Sackets Harbor Leasing Co. wanted to use for its proposed yacht club and conference center, a judge ruled in an order filed Thursday.
Sackets Harbor Leasing owner John M. Maxon proposed a 35-room hotel and conference center and, at one point, had installed docks for it. The village subsequently won a bid to have the docks removed, at least temporarily, after Maxon was cited with not complying with waterfront management law or applying for necessary dock permits.
