Independent agents hold the current multi-state licensing system in contempt because "the present system does not work," said Leonard C. Brevik, assistant vice president of state government affairs with the Independent Insurance Agents of America.
Mr. Brevik told a meeting of the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society that agents view the confusing multi-state licensing system and its inherent inefficiencies with disregard, disgust and distrust.
One problem plaguing the system is the time lag that frequently follows a non-resident license submission.
