For over 100 years, doctors have been taught that normal body temperature is 98.6F, but the Journal of the American Medical Association recently reported a study that shows the idea should be abandoned.
Over 700 oral temperature readings were recorded by 122 men and 26 women over a four-year period. The study participants were instructed to take their temperatures 1-4 times daily and to avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for 15 minutes beforehand.
