National NBC news viewers learned Thursday night that Minnesotans are more Republican than they used to be, that they're modest and hard-working, and that it's really, really cold here right now.
Standing on the stage of the Fitzgerald Theater, newly anointed "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams devoted about a third of the network's 5:30 newscast to Minnesota, in between stories about the upcoming Iraqi election, the recent tsunami and the furor over the Nazi costume that Britain's Prince Harry wore to a party.
