One day Steve Grabinski may have to decide whether he's a trumpet player who swims, or a swimmer who plays the trumpet.
It was all very clear for the Lake Park sophomore until last summer. Although he swam competitively at the Itasca Park District when he was 11 and 12 years old, other activities such as marching band, the school newspaper, peer jury, baseball and caddying at the Medinah Country Club took up a lot of his time and attention.
Grabinski didn't think a whole lot about swimming until he watched the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and became interested in the sport again.
