Like magicians conjuring up fabrics of the future, scientists, textile manufacturers and apparel makers are at work on all sorts of smart clothing. Here are a few:
Cool it: Researchers at two British universities, inspired by the way a pine cone opens to release its seeds, reportedly have developed a fabric with micro-micro spikes. When it's hot and you sweat, they let air in. When it's chilly, things close up.
