IAIN DOWIE today told Tottenham that [pounds sterling]1.5million is not enough to buy Wayne Routledge.
The England Under-21 midfielder, who has refused an improved contract at Crystal Palace, is valued by manager Dowie at closer to [pounds sterling]4m.
Birmingham and Fulham are thought to have enquired about the player but Spurs are leading the chase and are understood to have held a second round of talks with the Selhurst Park club last night.
The stumbling block could be the fee with Spurs hoping to get Routledge for [pounds sterling]1.5m.
