Home price in San Bernardino County, Calif., soars from $199,000 to $275,000.

Jan. 19--San Bernardino County's existing home prices increased a whopping 38.2 percent in a year. It was Southern California's largest increase.

In December 2003, the county's median price for an existing home was $199,000. Last month it was $275,000, DataQuick Information Systems analyst John Karevoll said Tuesday.

On a per-square-foot basis, the county's existing housing stock also registered the largest percentage increase for that 12-month period, up 36.2 percent, Karevoll said.
