Jan. 20--TED TURNER RELATES SOME LIFE LESSONS: Captain Outrageous was made a Captain of Innovation on Wednesday at a luncheon of the Technology Association of Georgia.
Ted Turner described how he was able to apply technology in using communication satellites to transmit programming to cable subscribers. That enabled Turner to build a media empire that included Turner Broadcasting System, Cable News Network, Headline News, the Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies and TNT.
But Turner cautioned the entrepreneurs in the audience to realize that they could be left out in the cold when they merge with another company.
