Cayuga County lawmakers will be asked to vote Tuesday on the casino-land claim deals between the state and the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York and the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma.
The Seneca County Board of Supervisors also might vote on the settlements that night. Those votes will likely influence how the proposed agreements move forward in the state Legislature and Congress, both of which must give their approval.
Cayuga County Legislature Chairman Herbert Marshall declined Wednesday to predict how his board will vote, but said the state needs to know the county's position - now.
