Dane County has racked up record home sales for the third straight year.
Kevin King said that a year ago he never would have expected the sales high his group, the South Central Wisconsin Multiple Listings Service, reported Wednesday. Excluding condominiums, at least 5,717 homes were sold in Dane County in 2004, up 2 percent from 2003.
"When we looked at the jump between 2001 and 2002 and then between 2002 and 2003, we just didn't imagine that we could go beyond that. So this has been a very pleasant surprise," said King, executive vice president for the listings service.
