A Taiwanese family struggling to save their three boys from a rare genetic disorder known as adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, arrived at the University of Minnesota on Thursday with the hope that doctors here can reverse the march of the fatal disease before it's too late.
The Changs will meet their doctors for the first time next week, an event sure to draw the attention of millions in their home country where the story of the middle-class Chang family racing against time has become the nation's most famous cause.
