NEW YORK -- On Tuesday, February 1, the Museum of American Financial History, in association with the Smithsonian Institution, will open "Survival of the Fittest: The Evolution of the Dow Jones Industrial Average," an exhibition on the role the original 12 Dow Jones Industrial Average (The Dow) companies played in the development of the U.S. economy. The exhibit will trace the history of The Dow from its founding in 1896 to the present and will educate visitors about what the index is and how to interpret it to make educated investment decisions.
