Celestyne Diggs Porter probably was the first local resident to spend much time with Martin Luther King Jr.
She baby-sat the future civil rights leader when he was 6 months old.
"Sweetie Cakes, I fed that baby, changed his diapers, and laundered those same diapers," said Porter, a 93-year-old longtime Norfolk educator.
