"But, Joe, you just aren't thinking this through," said Mike. "Don't do something stupid. You're good; you can get on the team because of your talent."
Lisa and Mike were worried--frightened, really. They and Joe had been "the three musketeers" for years. They were all good friends. They cared about each other. But now Lisa and Mike seemed to be having no luck, as Lisa put it, "talking some sense into Joe."
Feeling Anxious
Joe was the star of the freshman football team. He was fast and always seemed to be able to make the right plays. For a freshman, he had done an outstanding job. But now he was ready to move on to bigger things.
