(Los Angeles) Industry will be required to form integrated product teams (IPT) to comply with future Air Force requirements, Gen. Ronald Yates, commander of Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), told an industry audience during an Air Force Association conference Oct. 30.
"If we go on contract with you for new weapons systems we'll demand that you organize yourself in integrated product teams," Yates said.
Industry should expect to see a number of dramatic changes in the way the Air Force does business as it implements its Integrated Weapons Systems Management (IWSM) approach to weapons system development, he said. The IWSM concept centers on bringing ...
