A federal hearing has been slated for Monday, Nov. 16 on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) effort to block Alliant Techsystems' proposed acquisition of the bulk of Olin Corp.'s defense business.
The U.S. Federal District Court, District of Columbia, is holding the hearing to consider the FTC's request for a preliminary injunction to block the transaction between the two munitions makers. The commission issued a decision last week claiming the transaction would violate federal antitrust regulations (Defense Daily, Nov. 9).
