NEW YORK - Is there a battle looming between New York magazine and the new New Yorker?
Editor Tina Brown is out to make The New Yorker more relevant, newsy and attention-grabbing, and observers say that could present A real threat to New York magazine, not only for editorial blockbusters but for advertising bucks.
Brown doesn't see her magazine competing editorially with New York, but acknowledges it could pose a challenge for lineage. Ed Kosner, editor and president of New York, said changes in The New Yorker could make it more competitive with New York for stories.
