NEW YORK - Mark Cross is overhauling its image.
Over the past month, it has revamped its 25 stores to reflect a more casual attitude. It has also added a sporty collection of bags and small luggage items called Mark Cross Country that uses primarily man-made, leather-like materials. With retail prices ranging from $125 to $595, it is Priced substantially lower than traditional Mark Cross leather goods.
Mark Scott, executive vice president, said the firm through the years had been geared to the formal tastes of business executives but now it's adapting to the "dramatic changes in the Nineties consumer...people are more casual."
