Michigan State University is lining up key advocates in its bid to bring a $1 billion U.S. Department of Energy project to Michigan.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm this Wednesday will host members of the Michigan Business Group, the state's major business lobbyists, in Washington to ask support for MSU's bid to bring the Rare Isotope Accelerator to its campus.
The university is locked in a battle to land the project with Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Ill., a federal lab operated by the University of Chicago, said MSU President Lou Anna Simon.
