Glamorous Elizabeth Hurley, can be spotted at its tables. London restaurant critics have raved about it. But the renowned Cotswolds eaterie, The Village Pub, lost its cool in an extraordinary spat with a Welsh couple over a recipe for pounds 12.50 fish cakes.
Artist Janet Foster, 63, and her conductor husband Mark, 81, complained in a letter to the picturesque gastro-pub that the fish cakes, served on mushy peas with a tomato sauce gravy, were, 'completely tasteless.'
