Jan. 27--YANGON -- Myanmar has signed energy contracts with a consortium comprising a unit of China National Offshore Oil Co. and two other companies allowing them to explore for offshore and onshore oil and natural gas, official media reported Thursday.
Officials from state-owned Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise and representatives of the consortium signed production-sharing contracts Tuesday for the exploitation in block C-1 (Indaw-Yenan region) and C-2 (Shwebo-Monywa region) in central Myanmar and in block M-2 in the Gulf of Martaban, the New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported.
