Article: Stamp out apostrophe abuse!(grammar slammer)

Pity the apostrophe, it's the most abused punctuation mark in the English language. People just don't get how to use the thing. Some folks want to get rid of the apostrophe altogether! Happily, there is the Apostrophe Protection Society: www.apostropheofsnet.co.uk.

Everywhere, you see apostrophes where they don't belong.

At the supermarket: Melon's $1.49 each (Wrong!) At the mall: Ladie's jean's (Wrong! Wrong!) At the gym: Boy's Locker Room (No! Unless it's for just one boy.)

Pretty as they are, apostrophes are not just decorative. You can't stick them anywhere you want!
