The Israeli food manufacturing giant Elite Industries Ltd has opened a new factory in the northern Negev town of Sderot to produce salted snacks, including the Pepsico line of Ruffles. The factory was built in just five months with a $15 million investment. It is fully automated and employs 70 workers. "Elite snacks have captured 15 percent of the salted snack market just one year after commencement of operations in the Israeli market," Elite President Nathan Nissani said at the dedication ceremony.
