Jan. 27--AZUSA -- Assistant City Manager Robert Person became one of the highest-paid assistant city managers in the San Gabriel Valley this week when the city upped his salary by more than $2,000 per month.
The Azusa Personnel Commission approved the pay increase from $8,653.60 to $10,834 per month, effective Wednesday.
Person did not return a call seeking comment.
The commission acted upon the unanimous recommendation of the Azusa City Council to give Person the raise based on the increased responsibilities he has accepted since three top department heads left.
