Jan. 27--The growth in employment is expected to continue this year.
The Tulsa metro area lost employment last month but ended 2004 with a net gain of 1,500 jobs from last year.
Weaker-than-usual holiday hiring affected the Tulsa area in December as nonfarm employment totaled 381,700, down 1,100 jobs from November, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission reported.
Yet, even with that drop, Tulsa finished the year with more jobs than in 2003.
