Last year, after another summer of disgruntled travellers baulking at the price increases on family holidays, consumer watchdogs declared enough was enough.
They urged the Government to step in and review the increases that are imposed during the main school holidays and half-terms. In response, the Government announced it would be putting pressure on the travel industry to come up with cheaper deals for family holidays during the peak times of July, August and half-term.
