THERE'S been quite a revolution taking place in the Swedish car industry in recent years, nudging Nordic cars from the shadows into the motoring spotlight.
A radical rethink was badly needed for Saab and Volvo, trammelled by a safe, stout, staid - let's not mince words - drab image.
Both manufacturers have turned around their fortunes by introducing models across the board which are now in step with the times and, more importantly, give their rivals a run for their money.
Volvo's SUV offering is the ultimate example of the success of such a revision, attracting good reviews, not to mention the bootful of Oscars it has picked up along the way ...
