MORE DOCTORS OF SCIENCE IN BELARUS

Last year 116 applicants received the Doctor of Science degree and another 737 Candidate of Science degree, reports the High Attestation Commission (HAC) of Belarus.

In the meantime, HAC noted that the number of theses that were turned down increased considerably last year. In 2003, they declined 1.7% of PhD and 4.4% of doctoral theses, while in 2004 the figures grew to make 3.1% and 11.4%, respectively.
