Jan. 28--CLAREMONT -- A vacant store in the Claremont Market Plaza on Washington Street will be renovated to house the 16th branch of Lake Sunapee Bank, and should open in mid-April.

The project is one of three ongoing for the Newport-based business that is also opening a branch in Peterborough, N.H., at the end of the month and an Enfield, N.H., office in May, according to Senior Vice President of Marketing Doug Baxter.

"We're really excited about it because we've always considered Claremont to be a part of our market," said Baxter.
