PROJECT OVERVIEW:
US-based EXXONMOBIL CHEMICAL has been operating an ethylene plant with an installed production capacity of 825,000 tons per year (t/y) in Singapore since 2001. Ethylene, for that matter, is a basic building block for a variety of chemicals and plastics including polyethylene that is used in applications such as plastic containers and bags. Given the Asia/Pacific region's strong economic growth demand for petrochemical products has closely mirrored the expansion.
