At the annual Sugar Plum Days at the Lake County Discovery Museum families will be able to listen to stories, make a souvenir craft and taste some refreshments.
The annual event will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Stories will be read at 10 a.m.
The museum is in Lakewood Forest Preserve on Route 176 west of Fairfield Road near Wauconda.
"We want to provide something extra for families while kids are out of school, give them a reason to come to the museum," museum educator Christina Hirn said.
