Lake Park knew exactly what it was going to face when it took the court against Maine South.
The Lancers were going to encounter a three-quarter-court press and a good inside-out game.
"We knew that the trap was coming, and we were ready for it," said Lake Park coach Lisa Smith. "They've been doing it for years, and we knew what to expect."
Lake Park came out with a flurry, but turnovers and Maine South's unexpected dominance on the offensive glass propelled the Hawks to a 52-45 win at the Chicago Holiday Challenge on Thursday in Roselle.
